“THE WHOLE WORLD”
I was talking to a client today about the topic ‘What should you say to people in the social networks’. The client, I’ll call him Han Solo, said he was getting hung up on how he should talk when he’s talking to “THE WHOLE WORLD”. My advice to him was this: Change your mindset…stop talking to THE WHOLE WORLD, and instead put yourself in a mind-set where your thinking about specific conversations that you’ve had with specific people. It’s true that the social networks allow you the opportunity to talk with what feels like “THE WHOLE WORLD”, but more often that not trying to talk to THE WHOLE WORLD merely results in a horrible case of decision paralysis. Most people’s brains are not wired to think in terms of speaking to a large audience. Public speaking is a skill that doesn’t come naturally to many people, and always requires practice and refined technique. The same is true with social media.
